WhAAM Returns This Thursday at Jinx!

Whatcom All-ages Arts and Music (WhAAM) have idled their heavily steamed music events engine for more than a year in order to find a new home.  WhAAM, who formerly hosted shows at The Old Foundry, are now partnered with Make.Shift and will be located in the Jinx Art Space building at 306 Flora Street.  Both organizations work constantly to help musicians and artists living in, and traveling to our community.  Together, they have improved Jinx to make a venue that will encourage safe, all-ages fun stuff.  I'll take it.

We are playing there on Thursday and it's the first WhAAM show at Jinx.  Big Kids is on tour from Oakland, CA and they are so awesome.  The records are great and seeing them play is a party.  The Exquisites are coming back to play so we'll finally have a Bellingham show with them to release that split cassette we did together.  And holy shit, I'll always be in love with Livingston Seagull, so this show feels so good to me.

I hope you'll find time to take a break from making your Halloween costume while watching whatever horror movie you have queued up.

On Friday, September 23, we are playing an all-ages show at Bellevue's Ground Zero with Special Explosion, Cat From Hue, and Winnebago.  Saturday, September 24, at The Shakedown in Bellingham, we are playing with The Cute Lepers and Something Fierce.  One. Big. Recess.

New song for our split cassette with Jason Clackley.

Here is a song we recorded called
Swan Dive.

Recorded and mixed by Andrew Nickerson at 20th Century Bowl. Mastered by Chris Vita.

The tapes will be ready to snag at the Jinx show tomorrow. Three songs by Jason Clackley & the Exquisites on one side and three of ours, plus a cover that we recorded on the other.

New shirts by JESSYCA MURPHY.

Ladies' cut in gray/grey. Gentlemen's cut in denim blue. Click to enlarge.

Jessyca Murphy is big deal to me. Her charming art, ferocious music, and mega-crafty film work have wooed me good. She's busy as shit, too, so why is she spending time making art for our new shirts? So we can all get rich off of them and blow the money on Orangina.

We'll have them at the Jinx show (with EllenOprah, Trees & Stars, and Jason Clackley & the Exquisites), Thursday, July 28. *cough*all-ages*cough*first show of tour*cough*cough*

SHOW: Friday, July 8 @ No House with Bright Weapons, Cumulus, Cristina Bautista

The bummer news is, since Cristina Bautista (Connecticut Four, Visqueen, and Paxil Rose) and Alex Niedzialkowski (Cumulus and Kid Silver) both live in Seattle now, we rarely get to see them play in Bellingham anymore.  The fuzzy news is they are both playing here with Bright Weapons and So Adult at the No House on Friday, July 8.

We played at the No House during Yellingham and I was hoping we would get to play there again.  Email us (so.adult at gmail.com) if you need the address.

Our friends, ENVISION, have a new record.

ENVISION has a new record out and I really love it. These dudes have been our buds for forever and both guitarists, Keith and Alex, were original members in So Adult. Bo was in the studio with them lending his Producer's finesse when they recorded with Jackson Long at Two Sticks Audio (R.I.P.) in Seattle. This band is so good at serenading your heart with symphonic interludes that you almost forget that your ears are seconds away from a purely enjoyable thrashing.
